Bucky's Bio

bucky_2019James Buchanan Barnes, or Bucky, was born on March 10, 1917. He met Steve Rogers in Brooklyn and they became very good friends. Bucky enlisted to fight World War II, and once there he became a skilled soldier and was made a Sargent. He was captured, along with his men, by Arnim Zola and was experimented on until Steve Rogers, already Captain America, rescued him.
Bucky was one of the Howling Commandos, who fought alongside Captain America in the war. During a mission, he fell from a train into the frigid waters of a river at the bottom of a canyon, and survived the fall because of whatever serum Zola had injected him with. Bucky lost his arm in the fall, and also his memory.
Zola and Hydra found him and experimented further on Bucky, making him the perfect warrior, the asset, otherwise known as the Winter Soldier. In the Red Room he trained Natasha Romanov, and they became close, which was the reason why they froze him in a stasis chamber.
After that, he was forgotten for a long time until Hydra decided to use him again, waking him up when needed, and wiping up his memories whenever he seemed about to remember who he was. While working under Alexander Lukin's command, he is ordered to retrieve the Cosmic Cube. He confronts Captain America, and in the end he remembers who he is, and racked with guilt, he leaves.
Bucky used to be a very easy-going young man, but after what happened to him, his character has changed, and now he is cautious and doesn't like crowds. He is still a skilled soldier, but now he fights for peace.
